Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002
Information requested
You asked for information regarding the involvement of various directorates within the Scottish Government in initiatives related to the Promise or the well-being of Care Experienced Young People.
Please provide the following details:
1. A list of all Scottish Government directorates.
2. For each directorate, indicate whether they are actively engaged or have a vested interest in the Promise or initiatives focused on the well-being of Care Experienced Young People.
Additionally, if available, please share any relevant documents, reports, or communications outlining the nature and extent of each directorate’s involvement in these matters.
Response
You will find a list of all of the Scottish Government Directorates in the following link - Directorates - gov.scot (www.gov.scot)
While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the costs of locating, retrieving and providing the information requested would exceed the upper cost limit of £600.
When calculating the estimated cost of responding to your request we established that due to the significant number of documents, reports and communications across many teams in the Scottish Government relating to The Promise and Care Experienced Young People, complying would significantly exceed the upper cost limit.
Under section 12 of FOISA public authorities are not required to comply with a request for information if the authority estimates that the cost of complying would exceed the upper cost limit, which is currently set at £600 by Regulations made under section 12.
You may, however, wish to consider reducing the scope of your request in order that the costs can be brought below £600. This might be achieved by submitting a request that is specific to a commitment and/or area of the Scottish Government Promise Implementation Plan published in March 2022. This Plan brings together actions and commitments across portfolios that will support delivery of our national commitment to keep The Promise by 2030. You can access the Promise Implementation Plan via the following link - Keeping The Promise Implementation Plan
