Joint communiqué following the meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Group for UK EU Relation held on 6 March 2024.

Items and actions

The Interministerial Group (IMG) on UK-EU Relations met on 06 March 2024 via video conference. The meeting was chaired by the Minister for Europe Leo Docherty MP.

The other attendees were:

from the Scottish Government, Cabinet Secretary for the Constitution, External Affairs and Culture Angus Robertson MSP
from the Welsh Government, Minister for Economy Vaughan Gething MS
from the Northern Ireland Executive, First Minister Michelle O’Neill MLA and deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengelly MLA

Ministers discussed:

the upcoming meetings of the Trade and Cooperation Agreement Partnership Council and Withdrawal Agreement Joint Committee
the restoration of the Northern Ireland Executive

Ministers agreed to formally adopt terms of reference for the IMG.
