Acknowledgements

This information pack was originally written in 2004 by the Victims of Crime branch of the Scottish Government, with help and advice throughout from a working group of representatives from support organisations and criminal justice agencies. This group comprised representatives of the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (including Victim Information and Advice), People Experiencing Trauma and Loss (PETAL), the police, the Scottish Courts Service, Social Work, and Victim Support Scotland (VSS). Individual families bereaved by murder also commented on the pack.

Contributions were also made by officials across the Scottish Government, and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

The pack has been updated in consultation with these key stakeholders.
