Information requested

All correspondence, including attachments, and any information held regarding a meeting between Chief Constable Jo Farrell and Cabinet Secretary for Justice Neil Gray following his appointment in May including any memos, notes, agendas, minutes and other information relating to the meeting.

I enclose a copy of some of the information you requested in Annex B of this letter.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to provide some of the information you have requested because exemptions under the following sections of FOISA apply to that information:

• Section 25(1) – information otherwise accessible
• Section 30(b)(i) – free and frank provision of advice
• Section 38(1)(b) – personal data relating to a third party

The reasons why these exemptions apply are explained in Annex A to this letter.

From January 2024 the Scottish Government publishes minutes of regular meetings between the Justice Secretary, Chief Constable and Scottish Police Authority Chair on the Scottish Government website. Under section 25(1) of FOISA, we do not have to give you information which is already reasonably accessible to you.
