Response

In response to your request I have attached the following two documents.

Scottish Government Lone Working Policy Reporters’ Handbook - extract

In addition to the documents released it may be helpful to explain that all Scottish Government staff undertake mandatory health and safety training to ensure they are equipped to make appropriate decisions on health and safety matters arising in the course of their role. DPEA reporters are also provided with detailed guidance on which health and safety matters they should take into consideration when assessing whether a site inspection should be accompanied or unaccompanied.

Scottish Government staff are also encouraged to complete a Lone worker risk calculator and discuss the outcome of this with their line manager. You can find more about this in the document named Scottish Government Lone Working Policy.

Reporters, when requested, have a lone worker device supplied by The Scottish Government.
