Constitutional Futures Division meeting requests and correspondence: FOI release

Information requested

For the period 27th August 2023 - 17th January 2025, please provide the names of all persons or organisations who requested to meet (in person or virtually) with the Constitutional Futures Division, and had that request turned down.

Please also provide all correspondence between the Scottish Government and such persons or organisations over the same period.

Response

The Scottish Government’s Constitutional Futures Division (CFD) did not routinely log details of meeting requests when it was operational. Outwith FOISA, based on the recollection of officials who previously worked in CFD as it had been the subject of an earlier FOI request, I can confirm CFD declined a meeting request with These Islands in October 2023.

After conducting searches of our records, we have not identified any correspondence between CFD and These Islands about this meeting request. This is due to the passage of time and there being no business need to retain this information on a long-term basis.

This is a formal notice under S.17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested.
