Prison to Rehab programme documentation: FOI release

Information requested

1. Any analysis, briefing, or internal discussion explaining why only 48 people have completed a 12- week Prison to Rehab placement since 2022.

2. Any documents that identify barriers to prisoners entering or completing the Prison to Rehab programme, including capacity limits, referral issues, eligibility criteria, or drop-out rates.

3. Any briefing provided to Ministers or senior officials that comments on the low number of completions through the Prison to Rehab pathway.

Response

1. In response to the first question, this is a formal notice under section 17(1) of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (FOISA) that the Scottish Government does not hold any information within the scope of this part of your request.

2. In response to the second question, one email that falls within the scope of this part of your request has been identified. This correspondence is attached at Annex A. Some information has been redacted under section 38(1)(b) (personal information).

3. In response to the third question, this is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not hold any information within the scope of this part of your request.
