Information requested

1. Minutes from EXECUTIVE TEAM meetings which reference SALTIRE ARTICLE or VIVA EXCHANGE POSTS/COMMENTS in the past three months (from 22 Oct 2025)

2. ALL emails + WhatsApp messages + Microsoft Teams messages between DIRECTOR GENERAL CORPORATE and PEOPLE DIRECTORATE STAFF which reference SALTIRE ARTICLE or VIVA EXCHANGE POSTS/COMMENTS in the past three months.

Response

• I enclose a copy of most of the information you requested.
• We are unable to conduct searches on the VIVA Exchange system, as it is not used by the Scottish Government. However, the Scottish Government does utilise VIVA Engage, and searches have been carried out on that platform.
• While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have some of the information you have requested. The reasons why we do not have the information are explained in the Annex to this letter.

Annex - Reasons for not providing information.

The Scottish Government does not hold the information requested

The Scottish Government does not have the information you have asked for part two of your request because:

Emails - No emails were were exchanged during the date range asked/requested.
WhatsApp messages - In line with Scottish Government policy, Whatsapp is not used.
Microsoft Teams messages - The retention period on MS Teams, automatically deletes after 7 days.

As such, I hereby provide you with formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested for part two of your request.
