Information requested
‘Please supply all items of information held by the Scottish Government in relation to the dinner held at Bute House to discuss Scotland's economy on 2 June 2025 referred to in your response to FoI 202500479473.
This should include, but not be limited to, the full briefings provided to the First Minister and Deputy First Minister for the event, including the biographies of those present; all correspondence with attendees, their offices and representatives relating to the event, including invitations and requests for meetings; all information about the food and drink served, including menus, staff and catering costs, including invoices; all notes, reports and minutes generated as a result of the event; and all follow-up correspondence, both internal within the Government and with the attendees, their offices and representatives.’

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance some of the material is being withheld under exemptions outlined in the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (FOISA).
Section 38(1)(b) – Personal data
Some information has been withheld as an exemption under section 38(1)(b) (personal data) of FOISA applies to that information. This is because it is personal data of a third party and disclosing it would contravene the data protection principles in Article 5(1) of the UK GDPR (or section 34(1) of the Data Protection Act 2018). This exemption is not subject to the ‘public interest test’, so we are not required to consider if the public interest in disclosing the information outweighs the public interest in applying the exemption.
