Baby Boxes statistics for 2024: FOI release

You asked for

1. The number of individuals who requested a Baby Box in 2024 and subsequently contacted you to cancel their order, return or donate items from the box.

2. Please provide a monthly breakdown for the year 2024.

3. In addition, please provide the same figures (number of individuals) for the first six months of 2025, broken down by month.

Please see below the table detailing the figures for Baby Boxes dispatched in the year 2024 and figure for Baby Boxes returned, for the same period.

Additionally, at the time of your request the Scottish Government is only able to provide data of Baby Boxes dispatched and returned for first five months of the year 2025. This is due to the fact that the Scottish Government’s Baby Box Managing Agent, APS Group (Scotland) are still in the process of gathering data for the month of June 2025, which will be done at the end of the month.

Please note that the Scottish Government are only able to provide information on Baby Boxes returned as APS Group does not receive requests to return single items or for items to be donated to charity.
