Constitution Directorate staffing structure: FOI release

Information requested

The current staffing structure of the Constitution Directorate, including the number of full-time equivalent (FTE) staff, job titles or roles, and their pay bands.

Please also provide this information for the former Constitutional Futures Division as it stood on 1 January 2025.

Part one
At 30 May 2025, the full-time equivalent (FTE) staff currently employed within the Constitution Directorate, using the May monthly payroll report, was 38.7. This consisted of 42 staff members in total.

Staff in the Scottish Government’s Constitution Directorate comprised of three Senior Civil Servants and 39 other officials. The grades of the 39 other officials are – 2 x C3, 8 x C2, 11 x C1, 10 x B3, 5 x B2, 2 x B1 and 1 x A4

Part two
At 1st January 2025, the full-time equivalent (FTE) staff currently employed within the Constitutional Futures Division, using the December monthly payroll report, was 15. This consisted of 16 staff members in total.

Staff in the Scottish Government’s Constitution Directorate comprised of one Senior Civil Servants and 15 other officials. The grades of the 15 other officials are – 2 x C3, 5 x C2, 4 x C1, 1 x B3, 2 x B2, and 2 x B1.

*Figure includes 3 civil servant in CFD’s headcount who was at that time working elsewhere within SG. Staff across the SG are at times deployed to different business areas to manage overall business priorities.
