You asked for the cost in 2024/25 of provision of "free" bus travel to under 22's in Scotland.

Response

The total cost of the Young Persons’ Free Bus Travel Scheme for the financial year 2024/25 was £165,719,747.23. This figure comprises reimbursements made to operators, implementation and ongoing operating costs. Please note that as operators have up to twelve months to claim for journey reimbursement, this figure may be subject to change.
