Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

Information requested

All letters, emails, leaflets, or other forms of notices that were sent by the Scottish Government to residential properties or other addresses within boundaries of the Safe Access Zones (aka Abortion Buffer Zones) which were created as a result of the Abortion Services (Safe Access Zones) (Scotland) Act 2024. Please send all such correspondence that has been sent by the Scottish Government which dates from the institution of the Act until the present time (15 Feb 2025).

This could include letters advising residents of the creation of the safe access zones or notifying them of the changes that would occur as a result of the legislation.

Response

I enclose a copy of all the information you requested. As part of the public awareness campaign to coincide with the commencement of the Act, there was a variety of methods deployed which included publishing information on the Scottish Government website, NHS inform as well providing Health Boards with details they could also make public.  However there was only ever one leaflet issued to those who reside within a safe access zone, a copy of which is enclosed.
