Response

Transport Scotland do not have a dedicated command and control application to support roadside resources and communications between resources and control room operations, this is the responsibility of each of the trunk road operating companies who undertaken incident management on behalf of Scottish Ministers through the Network Maintenance Contracts in Scotland (NMC). Our Traffic Scotland Operating Contract is included in communications with our dedicated Trunk Road Incident Support Service vehicles (TRISS) which utilises Push To Talk (PTT) technology on the WAVE PTX platform to communicate between the vehicle and the Operating Company control rooms and is currently provided by the NMC's. Further details can be found at:

https://www.motorolasolutions.com/en_us/products/command-center-software/broadband-ptt-and-lmr-interoperability/wave.html

Each NMC has differing communication methods based on the core contract requirements and therefore there is not a single ICCS platform in operation at this time.
