WAVE Trust 70/30 campaign: FOI release

Information requested

1. Can you confirm when the Scottish Government gave its formal backing to the commission of inquiry into the delivery of 70/30?

2. What discussions or engagements has the Scottish Government had with WAVE Trust regarding the commission of inquiry into the delivery of 70/30 and wherever it would be possible to disclose those engagements ?

Response

In response to Question 1, while the Scottish Government agrees with the overall aim of the WAVE Trust’s 70/30 campaign to prevent early life adverse experiences, it does not formally endorse the campaign or the Commission of Inquiry and has no plans to do so.

In response to Question 2, I enclose a copy of most of the information you requested - the Schedule of Documents describes each of the documents I have enclosed, grouped into related exchanges. For consistency, the date for a document listed in the schedule and file name is the latest date for that particular exchange, typically the most recent reply in that email chain. Where there are multiple chains related to the same exchange, I have included all of these as separate documents.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to provide some of the information you have requested because an exemption under section Section 38(1)(c) (personal information) of FOISA applies to that information. As noted throughout the documents, I have redacted the names and contact details of specific Scottish Government officials and email addresses for Ministerial Private Offices, as well as email addresses and personal phone numbers for WAVE Trust representatives which are not publicly available.
