2. A breakdown of what the ‘Quality and Improvement’ section of the NHS Recovery, Health & Social Care budget is spent on generally.

3. A breakdown of what the ‘Quality and Improvement’ section of how the NHS Recovery, Health & Social Care budget was spent in the 2022-23 and 2023-24 financial years, and how it is planned to be spent in the 2024-25 financial year.

Response

1. The divisional budget allocation for Healthcare Quality and Improvement (HQI) supports a mix of policy and operational activity. HQI’s work is central to ensuring every person in Scotland receives the best possible healthcare for them, with a focus on safe, effective and person-centred care delivered at the right time and in the right place for them. The Division is made up of the following Units:

  • Older People’s Health and Palliative Care
  • Cancer and Rehabilitation Policy
  • Safety, Openness and Learning
  • Clinical Priorities
  • Diagnostics, Genomics, Rare Disease and Participation
