Information requested

Information about the organisation’s Local Area Network (LAN) environment. 

Please can you send me the organisation’s Local Area Network (LAN) contract, which may include the following:

· Support and Maintenance- e.g. switches, router, software etc
· Managed- If this includes services than just LAN.
1. Contract Type: Managed or Maintenance
2. Existing Supplier: Who is the current supplier?
3. Annual Spend for each supplier: What is the annual average spending on the supplier above? If there is more than one supplier, please split the annual averages spent for each supplier.
4. Number of Users: Please can you provide me with the number of users this contract covers. Approximate number of users will also be acceptable.
5. Number of Sites: The number of sites, where equipment is supported by each contract.
6. Hardware Brand: What is the hardware brand of the LAN equipment?
7. Contract Description: Please provide me with a brief description of the overall contract.
8. Contract Duration: What is the duration of the contract is and can you please also include any extensions this may include.
9. Contract Expiry Date: When does the contract expire?
10. Contract Review Date: When will the organisation be planning to review the contract?
11. Responsible Officer: Contact details including name, job title, contact number and email address?

1. Hardware Brand: What is the hardware brand of the LAN equipment?
2. Number of Users: Please can you provide me with the number of users this contract covers. Approximate number of users will also be acceptable.
3. Number of Sites: Estimated/Actual number of sites the LAN covers.
4. Responsible Officer: Who within the organisation is responsible for LAN please provide me with contact details including name, job title, contact number and email address?

There are two separate LANs in use within Transport Scotland.
LAN 1.
· Support and Maintenance- e.g. switches, router, software etc

Alcatel-Lucent

Maintain LAN Switches, Wi-Fi access points and network access

8. Contract Duration: What is the duration of the contract is and can you please also include any extensions this may include.
The network charge is part of the re-charge for the use of the SCOTS (LAN/WAN/Applications shared service) platform. This is renewed annually.

9. Contract Expiry Date: When does the contract expire?
April 2023

10. Contract Review Date: When will the organisation be planning to review the contract?

LAN 2.
• Support and Maintenance- e.g. switches, router, software etc
The Traffic Scotland LAN is owned by Transport Scotland it is maintained under the Traffic
Scotland Systems Contract (TSSC)
• Managed- If this includes services than just LAN.

1. Contract Type: Managed or Maintenance
Managed under the TSSC contract.

2. Existing Supplier: Who is the current supplier?
Our systems contract is currently with Cubic

3. Annual Spend for each supplier: What is the annual average spending on the supplier above? If there is more than one supplier, please split the annual averages spent for each supplier.
LAN Costs are included in the contract terms and are not split out, It is part of the fixed charges for systems support.

4. Number of Users: Please can you provide me with the number of users this contract covers. Approximate number of users will also be acceptable.
We have a small base of users, mainly our control room staff, circa around 20 users.

5. Number of Sites: The number of sites, where equipment is supported by each contract.
2, our main control centre and our disaster recovery site.

6. Hardware Brand: What is the hardware brand of the LAN equipment?
Primarily Cisco, but we do use other brands as well (e.g HP).

7. Contract Description: Please provide me with a brief description of the overall contract.
The LAN is maintained under the Traffic Scotland Systems support contract which covers the maintenance of our systems

8. Contract Duration: What is the duration of the contract is and can you please also include any extensions this may include.
The contract has just been recently renewed (under a competitive process) and runs for 5 years (with possible 2 year extensions).

9. Contract Expiry Date: When does the contract expire?
October 2027 (potential extensions for a further 2 years)

10. Contract Review Date: When will the organisation be planning to review the contract?
Annual reviews of the contract will take place. A decision on the need for replacement or extension will take place annually from the end of the 3rd year
