Response

1. How many tower blocks in Scotland have been fully remediated as of 11 September 2022 of their combustible cladding and what particular type of combustible cladding was removed.

1. The Scottish Government does not collect information where work is progressed outwith the Single Building Assessment programme. Of the 26 buildings in the Single Building Assessment pilot, all buildings are progressing through fire risk assessments to determine remediation needs, and where necessary take forward any remedial actions.

2. How much this cost (See question 1).

2. See answer to question 1 – Scottish Government does not hold information outwith the Single Building Assessment programme, however we will publish data programme spend on a quarterly basis.

3. How many tower blocks in Scotland are planned to have combustible cladding removed between the financial period of 2022-23 financial period and how much this will cost from the £97.1 million allocated funds.

3. We are working closely with all 26 buildings included in the Single Building Assessment pilot programme. Following a fire risk assessment by a qualified fire assessor, decisions can be made regarding the appropriate course of action for a building which may include mitigation and/or remediation. During 2022/23, we allocate funding for surveys and remediation reactively on a building by building basis with funding provided as part of the routine Scottish Government budgeting process. The Scottish Government has committed to make available to the programme all associated funding spent on cladding remediation in England by UK Government.

4. How many of the 400 public buildings in Scotland that have High Pressure Laminate have had HPL cladding removed and how much this cost.

4. The Scottish Government does not collect information where work is progressed outwith the Single Building Assessment programme, however, it is the responsibility of Local Authorities, Health Boards and other public bodies to manage and maintain their estates and deliver a safe environment for all building users.
