A full disclosure of all tax money given as funding to cancer charities, cancer medicine or cancer research.

I can now provide our response to your original request.

Thank you for your request dated 05 February 2022 under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (FOISA).

You asked for a full disclosure of all tax money given as funding to cancer charities, cancer medicine or cancer research from 4/2/2021 World Cancer Day to 4/2/2022 World Cancer Day.

I enclose a copy of all of the information you requested. The enclosed information was released based on the following definitions:

• ‘Tax money’ has been defined as money distributed within Scottish Government budgets.
• ‘Cancer charities’ has been defined as funding given directly to those organisations registered with the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator who specialise in cancer.
• ‘Cancer medicine’ has been defined as funding directly used to buy specific medicine to be given to cancer patients.
• ‘Cancer research’ has been defined as funding given directly to research projects/trials which identify causes and/or develop strategies for prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and cure of cancer.
