Victim Surcharge Fund application statistics: FOI release

Information requested

1. The number of applications received by the Scottish Government to receive money from the Victim Surcharge Fund in the second round of funding applications which closed on 14 January 2022.

2. The number of successful applicants who will be receiving money from the Victim Surcharge Fund in the second round of funding. Please list all successful applicants and provide the amount of money they will receive.

3. The number of applicants who were rejected from receiving any money from the Victim Surcharge Fund in the second round of funding. Please provide the number of unsuccessful applicants and their names where possible.

4. For the successful applicants, please state when this money will be paid out/has been paid out.

Response

In answer to your first question, I can confirm that eight organisations applied to the Scottish Government to receive money from the Victim Surcharge Fund in the second round of funding applications which closed on 14 January 2022.

In answer to your second and third questions - the number and names of successful and unsuccessful candidates cannot be supplied as the decision on who will receive funding is yet to be finalised.

In answer to your fourth question - money will be paid to the successful applicants after they have been notified of their success and once we have received a request from them to make the payment.
