Chief Statistician guidance to public bodies on sex and gender: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002


Information requested

1. Details of any sessions ran by the Chief Statistician for those individuals in public bodies responsible for collecting, managing, publishing and sharing data related to sex and gender up to 25 January 2022, and details of any further sessions planned.

2. Copies of all presentations and other material used in those sessions.

3. All responses received by the Chief Statistician following his request to public bodies to submit a summary of their plans for adoption of the Chief Statistician's guidance on collecting data on sex and gender.

Response

In response to parts one and two of your request, one session was held with Scottish Social Services Council on 2 November 2021. No presentations or other materials were used in this meeting. No further sessions are planned.

In response to part three of your request, I enclose a copy of most of the information you requested. Where responses were received as emails these have been collected in Annex A. Where responses were received as letters they are included in Annex B and C.

Exemptions under section 38(1)(b) of FOISA apply to some the information you have requested. In some of the responses received by the Chief Statistician the name, email address or telephone number of the responder has been withheld.
