Information requested

1. How much funding has the Scottish Government transferred to Highlands and Islands Enterprise for the repair of the Cairngorm Mountain Funicular Railway in the financial years of: a) 20/21; and b) 21/22?

2. What proportion of the £64.345m allocated to Highlands and Islands Enterprise in the Scottish Government’s Budget for 2022/23 is intended to fund the repair of the Cairngorm Mountain Funicular Railway?”

Response

1. The table below sets out the funding transferred to Highlands and Islands Enterprise for the repair of the Cairngorm Mountain Funicular Railway in 2020-21 and 2021-22. The agency also utilised funding from its core allocation.

2. The Scottish Government’s Budget for 2022-23 allocates £64.245m to Highlands and Islands Enterprise. Of this, £3m (4.67%) has been ring fenced for the repair of the Cairngorm Mountain Funicular Railway.
