Response

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested in regards to COP26. The Scottish Government has not undertaken a separate study of the economic impact of COP26 to date. We are engaging closely with the assessment of the economic benefits of COP26 commissioned by the UK Government, along with Glasgow City Council. This will consider the economic impacts of COP26 to Glasgow, Scotland and the UK.

The Scottish Government has not provided any funding to Edinburgh’s Christmas during 2021/22. Edinburgh’s Hogmanay has received £145,000 of EXPO funding and £133,332 of PLACE funding for 2021/22.

The Scottish Government is not aware of any SG funding provided to either Glasgow’s Christmas or Glasgow’s Hogmanay during 2021/22.
