Response
What change is ‘inclusive culture’ training intended to create and how will government determine whether or not the desired change has in fact been created?
The learning is focused on helping colleagues develop a consistent understanding of why continuing to build an inclusive culture is important, what inclusive culture means, what actions they can take to support this and what support would help them do this.
The learning is fairly new so some examples of where we will be monitoring whether the desiredchange has been created are as follows:
- the majority of us are comfortable to say whether or not we are from an equality or minority group.
- managers have greater confidence in identifying and dealing with equality and diversity matters.
- we're broadly representative of the Scottish population across our organisation.
Is the training being provided in person and in groups, by remote group meetings, or by online course modules accessed remotely on an individual basis?
They are currently delivered in a live webinar format using Microsoft Teams.
Are all employees tested on what they have learned from the training?
No.
Is it possible to ‘fail’ the training?
See above – employees are not tested.
If so, what are the consequences?
N/A.
Who is providing the training?
It is being provided by SG employees with expertise and support from the Employers Network for Equality & Inclusion (ENEI).
Was the contract placed after an open tendering process?
Yes.

£32,250 + VAT.

No, the training is for Civil Servants.
