Accountant in Bankruptcy (AiB) correspondence statistics between 1st April 2020 and 31st March 2021: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002


Information requested

For the total number of unique correspondence cases logged by the Accountant in Bankruptcy (AiB) between 1st April 2020 and 31st March 2021 and the percentage of these which were answered on time (only where there is a mandated response time and so this stat will already be tracked and available) for the following areas:

  • Data protection requests (including subject access requests and otherdata subject requests made possible under GDPR);
  • Freedom of Information and Environmental Information Regulations;
  • Complaints;
  • Ministerial Correspondence (questions from MPs made on behalf of theirconstituents);
  • Parliamentary Questions (questions raised in parliament requiringinformation from you);
  • Any other official correspondence type, such as enquiries, feedback orcompliments which are logged and tracked,
  • and to confirm the software application being used to track these requests i.e.Excel, Sharepoint, Access or a specific case management tool.

Following consideration of my email to you dated 1 November 2021, you notified me by email dated 2 November 2021, that you were happy to discard your request for the information detailed in the 6th bullet point above: “Any other official correspondence type….”.

Response

I am able to provide you with the information you have requested.

Data protection requests (including subject access requests and other data subject requests made possible under GDPR):

Between 1st April 2020 and 31st March 2021, AiB received 210 data protection requests and 100% were answered within the statutory time period.

Freedom of Information and Environmental Information Regulations;

Between 1st April 2020 and 31st March 2021, AiB received 11 Freedom of Information requests of which 100% were answered within the statutory time period. AiB received Nil Environmental Information requests.

Complaints:

Between 1st April 2020 and 31st March 2021, AiB received 11 complaints about the actions and policies of AiB and 25 complaints about third parties, investigated by AiB in accordance with AiB’s statutory supervision functions. There are no mandated time periods for responding to these complaints.

Ministerial Correspondence (questions from MPs made on behalf of their constituents):

Between 1st April 2020 and 31st March 2021, five MP/MSP letters were logged and 100% of the letters received a Ministerial reply within the mandated timeframe.

Parliamentary Questions (questions raised in parliament requiring information from you):

Between 1st April 2020 and 31st March 2021, one written PQ was tabled and the response was provided by AiB within the mandated timeframe.
