Response

1. Having consulted with colleagues across a range of business areas, it would appear that we do not hold any information which specifically addresses the question of the Scottish Government's compliance with the Bills of Exchange Act 1882. This therefore is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested.

It is, of course, nevertheless the case that the Scottish Government has a commitment to complying with all legislation relevant to its business.

2. I can confirm that Scottish Government policy does indeed take account of the provisions of the Modern Slavery Act (2015), insofar as its provisions relate to Scotland. Further information about the Scottish Government's policy in relation to issues of modern slavery and human trafficking can be found on our website at: Human trafficking - gov.scot (www.gov.scot).

3. I can confirm that the Council Tax is based in statute: The Local Government Finance Act 1992.

4. The Scottish Government does not have information which directly addresses this question. This is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested.

As the Scottish Information Commissioner's advice for requesters sets out, it is unusual for public authorities to hold recorded information regarding views and opinions in relation to specific questions (see: Tips for requesters (itspublicknowledge.info)).
