Meetings held to discuss publicly owned energy company: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002

Information requested

Details of meetings held by Scottish ministers about the potential of setting up a publicly owned energy company.

I would like a record of any meeting concerning a publicly-owned energy company since 2007 that was attended by a Scottish Government minister. I would also like to request the minutes for these meetings.

Response

Attached is a copy of some of the information requested. The attached document includes dates of relevant meetings and minutes/ summaries where available.

An exemption under section 38 (1) of FOISA applies to some the information you have requested. This includes personal details of those involved in the meetings disclosed.

This exemption is not subject to the 'public interest test', so we are not required to consider if the public interest in disclosing the information outweighs the public interest in applying the exemption.
