Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002


Information requested

You asked for information on convictions under the Sexual Offences (Scotland) Act 2009. For each financial year since 2010/11, the number of convictions, broken down by the offender's sex, for the following offences:

Sexual exposure
Sexual exposure to a young child (under 13)
Sexual exposure to an older child (13-15)

Response

The table below provides the data you have requested. Please note data is only available from 2011-12 onwards for these offences.

Please also note that the category of sexual exposure may contain convictions of sexual exposure to a child i.e. the category does not solely include cases where the victim was aged 16+. Therefore convictions of sexual exposure to a child can be included in all three categories you listed in your request.
