Email correspondence between Scottish Government officials and Police Scotland concerning the Hate Crime and Public Order (Scotland) Act, sent between 12 March 2021 and 8 June 2021.

I attach a copy of some of the information you requested as set out in the attached schedule.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to provide some of the information you have requested because exemptions under sections 38(1)(b) (personal information), 30(b)(i) (free and frank provision of advice) and 30(b)(ii) (free and frank exchange of views for the purposes of deliberation), 30(c) (prejudice to the effective conduct of public affairs), and 29(1)(a) (formulation or development of government policy) of FOISA applies to that information. The reasons why these exemptions apply are explained in Annex E, which I have attached.
