The number of information requests made in each of the last 3 financial years are shown in the table below.

You may wish to note that all requests for environmental information are handled under the Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004 (the EIRs) and are recorded as such on our case handling system. The 'Environment' row therefore represents all requests that related to any aspect of the environment and were handled under the EIRs.

For the other 3 categories, I have searched the case summaries of all information requests registered on our case handling system for 'building', 'drain' and 'smok'. These returned wider sets of results than the topics about which you asked (for example 'building' also returned requests relating to flags and 'smok' returned requests relating to deaths of smokers). I have then checked the case summary details of all the cases found by this wider search and extracted the numbers relating to your specific requests from those larger numbers.
