Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002
Information requested
Please could you provide me with how many Zebra Crossings are there in Scotland, also the statistics for all pedestrian crossings KSi’s ( including Zebra) for the period 2015- 2020.
Response
As far as the number of Zebra crossings are concerned we do not hold that information. These crossings will be on local authority roads and you would have to ask individual councils for the data. We do however, have information on the number of casualties killed or seriously injured in accidents where a pedestrian crossing was involved. Attached is a table with most of the information you asked for. I have not included information for 2020 as we are still receiving and checking data from the police about these accidents. Provisional statistics for 2020 will be published in July 2021.
