Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002
Information requested
Please provide a list of all the low traffic neighbourhoods in Scotland.
Response
Traffic estimates are collected using automated traffic counters and occasional surveys on selected roads. They are based on a very small cross-section of the roads in Scotland: 12 hours in one day traffic counts taken at around 750 sites per year and data from automatic traffic counters at about two dozen sites in Scotland. Therefore, although there are traffic estimates for council areas, we do not have them for local neighbourhoods. Information about the traffic estimates available can be found in chapter 5 of our publication Scottish Transport Statistics which can be found here:
https://www.transport.gov.scot/media/47300/scottish-transport-statistics-2019.pdf
It may be that the local councils have information on traffic on local roads but you would need to check with them.
