Performance of increasing number of school nurses: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

Information requested

You asked for "any figures or civil servant briefings on the Scottish Government's performance to date increasing the number of school nurses by 250 by 2022".

Response

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have some of the information you have requested. The commitment to increase School Nurses was made in the 2018-19 Programme for Government, as such we are in the first academic year of the commitment. It takes at least a year to train a School Nurse so figures on performance to date are not yet available.

Attached are civil service updates provided to Ministers on progress on the Programme for Government commitment.
