Scottish Government payment for Menzie golf course: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.


Information requested

  •  if the £5 million given by the Scottish Government to Donald Trump for his golf course in Menzie, Aberdeenshire has ever been repaid.
  •  if President Trump will be getting more money from the Scottish Government for his newly announced golf homes at the same location.

Response

The Scottish Government does not hold information regarding a £5 million payment to the Menie Estate or funding to support the recently announced housing. While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish government does not have the information you have requested. This is explained in the Annex to this letter. (See Annex A)
