Equally Safe (Violence Against Women and Girls) Fund application criteria: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

Information requested

What the criteria is for being “trans-inclusive” in applications to the Equally Safe (Violence Against Women and Girls) Fund, what the criteria are based on and which groups were involved in defining the criteria, and is this information available to the public.

Response

Attached is a copy of all of the information you requested: a copy of the conditions upon projects that are funded under our Equality Budget; and a copy of the guidance provided to applicants for the most recent funding round (specifically the Equally Safe Fund); and a copy of an LBTI Inclusion Plan.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have a record of consultation with trans organisations at the time of the inclusion of the trans inclusive plan in 2012.

All applications for the Equally Safe (Violence against Women and Girls) Fund are primarily processed by Impact Funding Partners, who published the criteria and guidance on their website at the time applications were being made in 2017. They are no longer available as the website has been updated and the next application round for this fund will not begin until 2020, so I have enclosed copies of the documents.
