Information requested
You asked for;
1. How many organisations bid for funding from a) the Challenge Fund and, b) the National Development Project Fund
2. How many, and which, organisations were awarded funding from a) the Challenge Fund and, b) the National Development Project Fund
3. What was the value of the each award given from a) the Challenge Fund and, b) the National Development Project Fund
4. The total amount awarded from a) the Challenge Fund and, b) the National Development Project Fund
5. What conditions and monitoring/reporting requirements were attached to awards from the from a) the Challenge Fund and, b) the National Development Project Fund.

Response
The answer to your question is;
1. How many organisations bid for funding from a) the Challenge Fund and, b) the National Development Project Fund.
1a) There were 54 applications received for the open element of the Challenge Fund. These came from 45 different organisations.
1b) There were 39 applications received for the open element of the National Development Project Fund. These came from 35 different organisations.
Note: The subject of this FOI includes money that was made available for open funding bids. Separately, money was allocated from Programme for Government funding and used for other projects of national significance.

5. What conditions and monitoring/reporting requirements were attached to awards from the from a) the Challenge Fund and, b) the National Development Project Fund.
5a) Each successful applicant will be required to submit reports on timescales relevant to the project. Reporting forms are in the process of being created. The outcomes reported on are specific to each project.
5b) Each successful applicant is required to demonstrate progress through quarterly reports. This includes actual and profiled expenditure, any change to estimated expenditure, and progress in achieving the objectives and outcomes. On completion, the grantees will submit a report summarising the outcomes and performance of the project to the Scottish Government.
