Scottish Government budget supplying the scholarship funding donation to Pakistan: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

Information requested

Regarding the £400,000 donation made to Pakistan by the Scottish Government. Since foreign aid is an area reserved to the UK government, I assume this donation must have come from one of the Scottish Government's devolved budgets. I would be grateful if you could tell me which budget this donation has come from.

Response

Thank you for your email on 16 March 2019 regarding the £400,000 scholarship funding for women and girls in Pakistan.
The £400,000 funding for the Pakistan Scholarships is through our International Development Fund as part of our established International Development programme within the Culture, Tourism and External Affairs portfolio.
Further information on Scotland’s commitment to International Development can be found on our website through this link: https://www.gov.scot/policies/international-development/
