I enclose a copy of some of the information you requested. The answer to your question is:

The Autism Toolbox was commissioned as part of an agreed output from the Autism Spectrum Disorder Education Working Group, which was established to take forward the recommendations in both the HMIE report 'education for pupils with autism spectrum disorders' and the NAS Scotland report 'make school make sense' and on 03/04/2009 the ‘Autism Toolbox: An Autism Resource for Scottish Schools Autism Toolbox’ was published. Professor Aline-Wendy Dunlop from the University of Strathclyde was involved in this original commissioning. The Scottish Government does not have the information on the cost of this original commission. This is explained further at the end of this section.

The printing, e-publishing and postage of the original Autism Toolbox was GBP 64,572.72.

In September 2012 the Scottish Government commissioned Scottish Autism to update and refresh the Autism Toolbox moving the resource online and a refresh of its content. The grant for this work was GBP 88,320.

In August 2015 the Scottish Government commissioned Scottish Autism to continue updating and reviewing the Autism Toolbox, with the inclusion of video material, a library of resources and publicity of the toolbox. The value of this grant was GBP 13,900.

From the records available at the time of this request, the total amount of money the Scottish Government has spent on the development and publishing of the Autism Toolbox is GBP 166,792.72
