The traffic light sequence report for the B7070 North Road at the junction of A725 at 9am on 10 October 2017.
Response
Scottish Roads Partnership (SRP), the contractor for the M8 M73 M74 Motorway improvements project, has confirmed that there was a 5 stage sequence for the traffic signals in place on 10 October 2017. Each of the stages and vehicle movements are illustrated on the attached sequencing diagram using direction arrows and colours. Stage 4 and 5 movements are the stages which apply to the movements mentioned in your request.
Stage 4
Traffic can from the A8
- turn left to travel north on A725 toward Coatbridge
- go straight ahead to B7070 North Road
- move forward to turn right (when no opposing traffic from B7070 North Road) to travel south on the A725
Traffic can from B7070 North Road
- turn left to travel south on A725
- go straight ahead to the A8 WB on ramp
- move forward to turn right (when no opposing traffic from A8 WB off ramp) to travel north on the A725 toward Coatbridge
Stage 5
Traffic on A725 both directions stopped, traffic from A8 WB off ramp stopped Traffic can from B7070 North Road
Traffic on A725 both directions stopped, traffic from A8 WB off ramp stopped Traffic can from B7070 North Road
- turn left to travel south on A725
- go straight ahead to the A8 WB on rampturn right (there is no opposing traffic) to travel north on the A725 toward Coatbridge
