Switched on Fleets grants totaling £4.8million were accepted by all 32 Local Authorities and their Community Planning Partnership members to be used during FY 2018/2019. To date, orders for 380 vehicles have been made to the value of £4.6 million or 96% of this budget with further orders anticipated before the end of the financial year, fully committing this budget.
The actual funds are paid once all the necessary vehicle ordering and grant claim paperwork is completed by the recipient. Local Authorities and their Community Planning Partnerships have until end of March 2019 to submit all the necessary paperwork to enable the processing of payment of the grant.
The £4.8m grants contribute to the target to support 500 ULEV into Public Sector fleets, however separate grant funding available to the wider public sector also contributes to the 500 ULEV target. So far grant offers to the value of £1.65m have been accepted by 6 public sector bodies resulting in 121 orders for ULEV being placed.
-
The £4.8m Local Authority/Community Planning Partnership grant has 32 Local Authority recipients who manage the grant on behalf of itself and its Community Planning Partners. Between the Local Authorities and their Community Planning Partners a total of 54 different organisations will receive at least 1 ULEV vehicle through this grant.
As mentioned previously £1.65m has been offered to 6 Public Sector bodies who sought support from the Switched on Fleets initiative to accelerate their early transition to a ULEV fleet.
-
The £4.8m grant allocation for Local Authorities/Community Planning Partnerships is split as per the attached document.
-
The £4.8m grant has to date supported orders for 380 ULEV (the fund provides support for purchase or leasing of a vehicle) totaling £4.6m in the 32 Local Authority/Community Planning Partnership areas. The £1.65m grant for public bodies has supported orders for 121 ULEV.
