“With reference to the Report by Ms E.Roberton last week on Regulation of Legal Services in Scotland I have 2 questions: 
 
1. What costs have been incurred in the preparation of the Report up to its date of publication.
 
and 

2. Please advise of any pro bono contributors to the Report.”

Response
 
The answer to your question is that:
 
1. The total cost of the review to the publication date of the report on the 23 October 2018 totalled £56,550.61. This cost may be attributed across three areas.
 
(a) Review costs: £34,836.41.  This includes expenses and fees incurred by the Chair, panel members expenses and costs incurred in relation to stakeholder engagement.
 
(b) Research costs: £19,092.20
 
(c) Publication costs: £2,622.00 
 
2. Review group members provided their time free of charge, however were able to claim back travel and subsistence expenses.  Details of the review members may be found at the review webpage:
