How many Covert Human Intelligence Sources (CHIS) has the Scottish Government or First Minster approved the use of in the last 10 years in Scotland and of these CHIS, how many aged under 18 were approved for use by the Scottish Government or First Minister.

 

 

The Scottish Government has not authorised the use of CHIS in Scotland in the last 10 years and as a consequence no authorisations were made for any CHIS under age 18.  This information relates to Marine Scotland, the Accountancy in Bankruptcy and Transport Scotland, these being the areas of the Scottish Government provided for in the Regulation of Investigatory Powers (Scotland) Act 2000.  

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have all the information you have requested.  However, you may wish to contact the Scottish Prison Service at gaolinfo@sps.pnn.gov.uk and the Food Standards Agency Scotland at openness@fss.scot.  The reason why we don’t have the information is explained below.

The Scottish Government does not have all of the information you have asked for because the Scottish Government is not responsible for responding to FOISA requests on behalf of the Scottish Prison Service and Food Standards Scotland.
