FOI reference: FOI/18/00636
Date received: 23 February 2018
Date responded: 22 March 2018
For copies (or all the information contained therein) of all correspondence between the Scottish Government and Action for ME from December 1st 2017 to the present day (23 February 2018). Also the minutes / summaries / notes of any meetings between the Scottish Government and Action for ME within that timeframe.
I enclose a copy of the information you have requested that we hold.
An exemption under section 38(1)(b) of FOISA (personal information) applies to some of the information requested because it is personal data of a third party, i.e. names/contact details/signatures of civil servants and third party employees below senior management, and disclosing it would contravene the data protection principles in Schedule 1 to the Data Protection Act 1998. This exemption is not subject to the 'public interest test', so we are not required to consider if the public interest in disclosing the information outweighs the public interest in applying the exemption.
Personal data of a third party has been redacted using black. If in doing so the domain name is not shown on the 'to' or 'from' lines of emails, to assist you with understanding the context of the correspondence, we have inserted whether it is the Scottish Government or Action for ME. We have also numbered the separate email chains from 1 to 17 and put each chain on a new page. Where an email contained an attachment, that document has been shown directly below that email chain.
The Scottish Government is committed to publishing all information released in response to Freedom of Information requests. View all FOI responses at http://www.gov.scot/foi-responses
