Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

Information requested

What has been the number of concessionary fare passes issued in Dundee in each of the past five years for each of the following categories:

  1. Disabled
  2. Disabled plus companion
  3. Visually impaired
  4. Visually impaired plus companion
  5. 60 plus

The table below shows the cardholder statistics for each card type category, for the Dundee City Council area, for the last 5 years (2017-2013 inclusive). These figures are taken from the local authority card management system and relate to the number of cardholders with a valid card issued to them. As cardholder personal circumstances change, these figures can fluctuate on a monthly basis so for consistency, I have provided cardholder numbers as at August for each year.

Transport Scotland does not hold any information about the total number of cards issued over a 12 month period as one cardholder may be issued with more than one card during the 12 months. This could be due to someone renewing their card, reporting a card lost and obtaining a replacement or being issued with a new card due to a change of circumstances. The information below therefore shows the number of registered cardholders and not the total number of cards issued.
