5.27 ICES Area Vlb (Rockall) - all closed or restricted areas

 

5.27.1 the area known as the Rockall Haddock Box as described in paragraph 4 of Part C of Annex VI of retained EU Regulation 2019/1241; which is within United Kingdom waters, and.

 

5.27.2 that part of the area known as North West Rockall described in paragraph 1 of Part D of Annex XII of retained EU Regulation 2019/1241 which is within United Kingdom waters.

 

5.27.3  When the vessel to which this licence relates is present within either of the areas described at 5.27.1 or 5.27.2, it must a) maintain a speed of six knots or more (except in the case of force majeure) and, b) prior to entry into either of those areas, ensure that all fishing gear is lashed and stowed in accordance with Article 47 of retained regulation (EC) 1224/2009  and remains lashed and stowed until its departure from it. 

 

If the fishing vessel to which this licence relates travels at a speed below six knots within either of the areas described at 5.27.1 or 5.27.2, it must make contact with the UKFMC immediately, detailing a) why it is there and travelling at a speed below six knots; and b) how long it intends to be there and its estimated time of departure from it.

 

5.27.4 Condition 5.27.3 does not apply to fishing vessels using longlines fishing inside the area described at 5.27.1.
