Items and actions
Actions from previous meeting
A021
This work will continue up to including after handover. No red flags of concern from FMPG. A list is to be shared with CMAL of the certificates to be provided – this will be done within 2 weeks.
Action FMPG
A027
CalMac have had sight of all spares and are happy – however still need to move some of the spares from the FMPG shipyard.
Action – FMPG
A028 & A029
Looking to discuss with legal advice on getting the variation of contract or letter and then a payment mechanism finalised. Work on this remains ongoing and further meetings outside of the 801 meeting will take this forward. List of OEM and costs associated will be shared with SG.
Action – SG/CMAL
A030
201 out of 269 compartments closed (68 remaining to close before sea trials) and 48 to be closed off after sea trials. However, these are being worked on in the background already – for example, the engine rooms are to be closed off after sea trials but is currently being cleaned. Overall, big items are still to be closed off but work remains ongoing on this work. FMPG will provide reports to this working group on the compartment close-offs.
Action – FMPG/CMAL
A031
CalMac shared the shakedown plan was received from CalMac. No concerns were raised regarding this.
Action - CalMac
Hot topics
Sea trials – CalMac crewing needs to be discussed and taken forward together with FMPG’s plan. A first draft plan to be provided at next week’s meeting. This will all form part of familiarisation.
LNG - nitrogen/liquid phase is about to begin and FMPG have asked that any visitors to the vessel will need to be organised to not infringe upon work happening in this regard. Vacuuming of the liquid phases has been ongoing for a number of weeks but this will be closed off at the end of this week. There are a few remaining tweaks to some critical systems of the vessel – these need to be robust and will be presented this week.
MCA - 9 of the sliding fire doors were passed with minor comments, and emergency stops and alarm systems, disabled toilet alarms, and air-driven pumps will be getting closed off this week with the MCA. They came back with further comments on crewing requests - CalMac need further clarification on what/who is needed so they can create the roster for this work (e.g. how many crew are needed for each day) and this will be taken forward with FMPG/CalMac separately. Weight of the vessel and stability is being finalised – so far this works okay and will not impact operationally – TS will pick this up with CMAL outside of this meeting.
List of drawings and manuals and the documents themselves will need to be provided to CMAL. List of manuals has been provided from FMPG to CMAL but list of drawings and the actual drawings and manuals themselves are still to be provided.
Lifts have been insulated, the mist sprinklers have been completed and fixes have been applied and materials ordered. The painting is to be completed and [REDACTED] on site to help close-off this work.
Contract amendments – this has come in for the passenger numbers and this will be shared with the working group and will need signed and returned to SG asap.
Handover of the vessel – [REDACTED]. CMAL note that there is still a lot of complex compartments to be closed off and systems to be completed and there remains risks but this is normal for shipbuilding at this stage of completing, testing, and trials.
Any other business
TS noted that there is further work and a meeting regarding the delivery/handover process and the comms surrounding this. [REDACTED].
SG noted that the warranty and costs to be completed needs to be finalised and cleared up to account for resource and capital costs. A meeting to follow up on this will need to be set.
