Overview of key facts and trends relating to energy in Scotland for Q3 2024
Errata published on 20th December 2024: A correction has been made to the ‘Key Points’ and ‘Renewable Electricity Capacity’ pages. The percentage change in electricity generated from renewable sources in Scotland in Q3 2024 compared to Q3 2023 was previously reported as an increase of 15.6%. This has been corrected to an increase of 8.5%.
Errata published on 26th March 2025: A correction has been made to the 'Generation and Supply of Electricity 2023' page. The amount of electricity generated from low carbon sources was reported as 89.6% from hydro, wind, solar, pumped hydro, nuclear and bio energy. However, 89.6% excludes generation from pumped hydro. The figure and associated chart has now been corrected to 91.2%.
