Apply to be an EPC Approved Organisation
You can now apply to renew your EPC Approved Organisation status or become a new EPC Approved Organisation.
Approved Organisations are appointed by the Scottish Ministers. They ensure that all active EPC assessors are qualified and have had the relevant training to properly prepare and issue EPCs.
All EPC assessors in Scotland must be a member of at least one Approved Organisation. This complies with the Energy Performance of Buildings Regulations (Scotland) 2025.
Approved Organisations handle:
-
member accreditation and registration
-
quality assurance and auditing
-
complaints and disputes
-
training and continuous professional development (CPD)
The Scottish EPC Accreditation Scheme: operating requirements sets out the minimum requirements that Approved Organisations must adhere to.
Existing Approved Organisations must reapply to keep their status. There is no time limit on applications.
