Correspondence regarding the appointment of a Women's Health Champion: FOI release

Information requested

Any and all correspondence, emails and minutes from August 2021 until 15 September 2022 in relation to the appointment of a Women’s Health Champion as part of the Women’s Health Plan published in August 2021.

Response

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to provide the information you have requested because exemptions under sections s.38(1)(b) (personal information); s. 30(b)(i) (free and frank provision of advice), 30(b)(ii) (free and frank exchange of views for the purposes of deliberation), s.29(1)(a) (policy formulation), s30(c) disclosure would likely prejudice the effective conduct of public affairs and s25 (information otherwise accessible) of FOISA apply to that information. The reasons why these exemptions apply are explained in the Annex A to this letter.

The Scottish Government is currently considering a number of candidates to take on the role of the Women’s Health Champion. We expect to publish an announcement about the appointment made to the role of Women’s Health Champion on the Scottish Government website soon.

Under section 25(1) of FOISA, we do not have to give you information which is already reasonably accessible to you. If, however, you do not have internet access to obtain this information from the website(s) listed, then please contact me again and I will send you a paper copy. Minutes from the meetings of the Women’s Health Plan Implementation Board, the oversight body responsible for monitoring the delivery of the Women’s Health Plan programme, will also be routinely published on the web page below:
