Response

A copy of some information which may be useful is attached.

However, while our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have the specific information you have requested. This is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that we do not hold the information you requested

I have searched our files, but while there is general information available about steps taken to ensure the safety of Factor VIII and Factor IX products during that time period, we do not have any information which details which chemicals were used or any details of the research batches used.

However, you may wish to review evidence available on the Penrose Inquiry website, or contact the Infected Blood Inquiry at contact@infectedbloodinquiry.org.uk who may be able to help you.
